In the Edo period, inland water transport was an integral part of people’s daily lives. Inheriting this history, passenger vessels will be introduced as a new form of water mobility for today’s Tokyo. The cabin seating, offering a variety of scenic views, features stylish colors inspired by the Edo period color palette known as "Shijuhattcha Hyakunezumi — literally, 48 browns and 100 grays.” Light reflecting off the water and streaming through the skylight softly marks the passage of time. The sleek, curved, silver hull blends seamlessly into Tokyo’s ever-changing urban waterscape throughout the day.
Nihonbashi e-LINER
The “e” in Nihonbashi e-LINER represents five words starting with “E”: Edo (history), Experience, Expand, Emergency (emergency response), and Ecology. Building on Edo’s legacy as a city of water, Nihonbashi e-LINER is shaping Tokyo’s future by offering both an eco-friendly mobility experience and a reliable waterborne option for emergency transport.
